Beginning in 1962, Ferrari won the prototype class of the world sports car championship for five of the first six years, running through 1967. Aggressive, sleek, aerodynamic and achingly beautiful, the P4 was the final iteration of this series for Ferrari.

In the first race of the 1967 season, after losing to Ford the previous year, two of the factory P4s finished 1st and 2nd, followed by Luigi Chinetti’s North American Racing Team (N.A.R.T.) in 3rd. The photo finish of the three Ferraris crossing the line together at Daytona was an epic scene.

This original painting by Enzo Naso depicts the #23 car of Chris Amon and Lorenzo Bandini en route to that commanding victory. The work was first displayed at the ‘Non solo Rosse’ exhibition at the Ferrari Museum in 2010. It was later signed by Mauro Forghieri, formerly the Technical Director of Ferrari’s Racing Department.

Dal 1962 al 1967 la Ferrari ha vinto la classe prototipi del Campionato del mondo per ben cinque dei primi sei anni. Aggressiva, elegante, aerodinamica e di una bellezza struggente, la P4 è l'ultima della serie di queste “rosse”.

Nella prima gara della stagione 1967, dopo aver perso l'anno precedente contro la Ford, due delle P4 ufficiali si piazzano prima e seconda, seguite a ruota dal team North American Racing Team di Luigi Chinetti (N.A.R.T.), in terza posizione. L'immagine del photo finish che vede le tre Ferrari tagliare il traguardo di Daytona è entrata nella leggenda.

Questo dipinto originale di Enzo Naso illustra la vettura numero 23 di Chris Amon e Lorenzo Bandini in viaggio verso quella vittoria iridata. Il lavoro è stato esposto per la prima volta alla mostra “Non solo Rosse” presso il Museo Ferrari nel 2010. Successivamente è stato firmato da Mauro Forghieri, già Direttore Tecnico del reparto corse Ferrari.
