To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Ferrari created a limited run of 70 bespoke liveries through its exclusive Tailor Made department, each inspired by a significant model from the company’s past and applied to just one example of the five production models available at the time—the California T, 488 GTB, 488 Spider, GTC4Lusso, and F12berlinetta—for a limited run of 350 singular, celebratory cars.
The distinctive color scheme on this one-of-one 2018 Ferrari 488 GTB 70th Anniversary takes inspiration from the landmark 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Pinin Farina Coupe’s signature livery of Rosso Bordeaux with Grigio Conchiglia roof. It is the 26th color combination in the commemorative series and is named “Some Like it Red” after the Marilyn Monroe 1959 film Some Like it Hot. Ferrari Tailor Made reinterpreted this timeless color scheme for 70th Anniversary models with an exterior color combination of Rosso Mugello and contrasting Argento Nürburgring roof and mirror caps, as seen on the 488 GTB offered here. Various exterior ducts, grilles, and flaps were finished in Matte Black as part of the 70th-anniversary treatment. Meanwhile, the two-tone interior combines Charcoal elements with deep plum Vinaccia leather upholstery on the doors and seats, which feature a vertical ribbed pattern typical of classic GT cars. Tone-on-tone stitching, embroidered logos on the headrests, aluminum elements in Argento Nürburgring, and a 70th-anniversary dedication plate further dress the cabin.
Delivered new to Algar Ferrari of Philadelphia, this 488 GTB 70th Anniversary carried a suggested retail price of $390,306 when new, which included $133,756 of 70th-anniversary particulars, factory options, and other special features. Other notable factory options include front and rear parking sensors, Ferrari shields, white rev counter, 20-inch forged “Diamond” rims, and fully electric seats.
Acquired by the consignor in 2025, this one-of-one 488 GTB 70th Anniversary is now offered with 4,500 miles showing on the odometer at cataloguing time and is accompanied by a window sticker, factory books, and 70th Anniversary Grey Book. For the Ferrari enthusiast set on owning one of the company’s iconic mid-engine V-8 supercars finished in classic red, this unique 488 GTB presents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a truly singular example that is sure to stand out from the rest.
