In 2003, as a part of their centennial celebration, Ford Motor Company created a prototype to commemorate their highly successful GT40 program of the 1960s. The new Ford GT, was met with rave reviews, later entering production for the 2005 model year. The modern interpretation featured retro styling and supercar performance the likes of which hadn’t been seen in a road car produced from Detroit. Powered by a 550 bhp, 5.4-liter DOHC supercharged 32-valve V-8 engine the Ford GT was capable of achieving 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph. The impressive performance rivaled that of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari Enzo. Production of the Ford GT ran from 2005 through the 2006 model year, over which time a total of 4,033 examples were produced.

This 2005 Ford GT is one of only 58 examples produced in black without the customary Ford racing stripes. The car shows very nicely having covered less than 5,800 miles. A three-option example, it features a McIntosh sound system, painted brake calipers and forged BBS wheels. This Ford GT includes pictures from the plant during the build as well as signatures under the hood from the GT team– including Bill Ford and Steve Saleen. Also accompanying the car are the original books, window sticker, hang tags and car cover. An appreciating modern classic since it’s release, this 2005 Ford GT is sure to impress future ownership for years to come.
