This Chevrolet Pickup has just finished a three-year build. The engine was rebuilt with performance in mind; it is also equipped with an Edlebrock 650cfm carburetor mounted on a Performer intake manifold. Other amenities include: Headman headers, new alternator, power steering pump and Petronics HEI Blaster distributor. Shifting gears is a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 transmission with programmed shift points and Lokar shift linkage. A 1970 Camaro Z28 differential with a 3.63:1 ratio and new axle shafts were installed. The front clip was removed from a 1970 Camaro and customized with new suspension components including: QA1 coil over shocks and McCaughey’s 2-inch drop spindles. The rear suspension has a TCI four-link set up with a pan hard bar and QA1 coil over shocks. The stock frame was gusseted for added strength and stability. The exhaust is a 2.5-inch exhaust pipe with dual Flowmaster series 44 mufflers. The wheels are U.S. Mag Bandits wrapped in Yokohama performance radial tires.
The body was stripped to bare metal, emblems and moldings were smoothed over for a clean unique look. It was painted in Techno Gray Metallic on the exterior and finished with premium black vinyl interior. Dynamat Extreme was applied to all interior surfaces and roof so it is quite and cool while driving. German tight weave carpet covers the floors; door windows and windshield were converted to one-piece glass. A custom Autosound audio system was installed as well as a sub woofer and Dolphin full range gauges. The owner states, “This was a high dollar build that took over three years to complete” and this is a beautiful example of a customized pickup.
