Truly great designs never grow old. Rolls-Royce introduced the Corniche Drophead Coupe in 1970 as a convertible variant of the popular Silver Shadow and it was produced for a remarkable 25 years. Each vehicle was specially ordered at Mulliner Park Ward Coachworks in London, taking over a month to handcraft to a magnificent standard. Only the finest Connolly leather hides were used within, and the top alone was crafted so perfectly that it fit like the roof of a coupe. Over the course of its production run, the Corniche was subtly improved. Improvements for the Corniche II included the addition of an oil cooler, an aluminum radiator and a new wheel design.

This Corniche is with its second Los Angeles owner from new. The odometer currently displays 29,000 miles which is supported by service records. Scott Motors of Los Angeles has regularly serviced the car for its current collector owner and extensive service records documenting the car from new are included with the sale. The interior woodwork, mouton wool carpets, original Connolly leather interior, and engine are all in impeccable, well-preserved condition. Acrylic White suits the lines of the Corniche well and contrasts nicely with the tan interior and top. Unusually, this Corniche has been optioned with rear picnic tables and a bar set with a flask hidden in a compartment in each door. Please note that this particular Corniche is one of the 20,000 series cars with all of the later improvements that make it a more collectible car. The service manual, audio equipment manual, and Corniche and Continental manual in its original case are included with the vehicle.
