Born due to General Motors heavy drive to compete with the first generation Ford Mustang was the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro. With GM realizing that their compact Corvair line could not compete with the Ford Mustang due to its rear engine design and declining sales, the Camaro was introduced to do just so. After a live press conference in Detroit, it was announced that a new car line called Camaro was in the works. Chevrolet General Manager Pete Estes claimed that the name “suggests the comradeship of good friends as a personal car should be to its owner. To us, the name means just what we think the car will do…Go!”
Equipped with a LT1 340-hp V-8 engine paired to an automatic transmission with improved shift points, this 1967 Camaro SS is sure to please any crowd. This first generation Camaro has recently undergone a complete ground-up restoration and is finished in two-stage Tuxedo Black paint with SS striping. Everything on this Camaro has been completely gone through including the differential, front and rear suspensions, transmission and engine. With power options like steering and disc brakes, plus front and rear spoilers, bucket seats and center console, this SS is sure to drive like a dream. Other recent work that has been done include new wheels and tires and a complete interior top-to-bottom.
