The Triumph TR6 was the most popular product offering in the TR range by the time production ended in mid-1976, with a total production of 91,850 units. All TR6s featured the virtually bulletproof inline six-cylinder engines, which put out a stout 106 horsepower in naturally-aspirated, U.S.-spec form. The TR6 featured a four-speed manual transmission with optional overdrive, which lent itself to long cruises on rolling country roads or higher-speed motorway travel.

This example is a great original that was purchased by the museum from its first and only owner. Finished in the highly desirable Pimento Red, it is nicely optioned with the overdrive transmission, in addition to a factory hard top. The odometer reads a mere 6,712 miles, and aside from now having only two-owners, it comes with the original invoice from George Byers Volvo-Triumph Inc. in Columbus Ohio, which details its original specifications, including the $225 overdrive, the $265 hard top, and other items that brought the purchase price to $6,858. Bruce Weiner has owned over 40 examples of the TR6, including several that had under 100 miles. Needless to say, he knows a good, correct original when he sees it. As the appreciation of Jaguars and Austin Healeys continues to bring prices for Triumphs upward, the sparse number of low mileage, unmolested examples will be at the forefront of the pack.
