“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” was director Ron Howard’s big-budget remake of several television and video productions of the classic Dr. Seuss children’s story. For the 2000 film, a number of cartoon-style cars were created for the characters to drive. All were based on the same model golf car from well-known manufacturer Club Car, but fitted with different bodies according to their individual roles.
The bodies are fiberglass, with molded plastic seats. The tires have been fitted with bulbous “spats” to give them a cartoon-like appearance.
The Grinch Taxi:
A three- to five-passenger vehicle in the same idiom as Martha’s Roadster, but with a higher tail and small stylized radiator. Orange with yellow fenders and upper molding, it has a windshield frame and an onboard battery charger.
