Chassis no. K5786

414-cid, 150-hp L-head V-12 engine, three-speed manual transmission, solid front axle and live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes. Wheelbase: 124.5-inches.

Built by film car constructor “Movie Mike” Walsh, this car was made to pass for a Nazi Mercedes-Benz parade phaeton. Modified from a 1936 Lincoln sedan, it has the original V-12 engine, front fenders from a 1933 Lincoln, and a grille intended to mimic the Mercedes nose. In the madcap movie “The Rat Race”, it is supposed to be Hitler’s staff car, in a scene in which it is stolen by a Jewish family who eventually crash into a convention of World War II veterans. Looking none the worse for the movie crash, its future uses are limited only by a new owner’s imagination.
