Ford introduced the Mustang on April 17, 1964. The car was developed by an eight-man committee led by Lee Iaccoca. The car was met with rave reviews, and sold very successfully. Its award winning design made the Mustang the first and only automobile to receive the Tiffany Award for Excellence in American Design by Tiffany & Company. Unique to the Mustang buying experience was that buyers were given a seemingly endless list of options to add to their car, which gave people the opportunity to customize their new car to their liking. In 1965 Ford produced 73,112 two-door convertibles.

This iconic 1965 Mustang Convertible is presented in what appears to be Wimbledon White with a blue convertible top. Exterior features on the car include driver’s sideview mirror, rear-mounted antenna and body colored mudflaps at all four corners. The Mustang rides on thin whitewall tires with factory wheel covers, and it is powered by Ford’s famous 289-cid V-8 engine paired to a floor-shift three-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. Power options on the car include its convertible top and brakes. The interior is completed in white featuring bucket seats and a rear bench. The carpet and upper dashboard are blue, similar in color to the convertible top. Additional interior features include a pushbutton radio.
