Production of the second generation Chevrolet Bel Air began in 1955. In an effort to elevate the Chevrolet brand the styling department worked very hard to come up with a unique design. One of the more notable design aspects was the “Ferrari Type” grille. While some consumers could make the correlation, Chevrolet felt it wasn’t successful enough, as most consumers were unaware of Ferrari heritage. Right around the time the 1955s were released, a request from the top came down that there was to be a new front end design for 1956. The second generation of Bel Air production falls under the “Tri-Five” designation, cars produced from 1955 to 1957.

This nicely restored 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible is attractively presented in black with a white convertible top. Exterior features include dual sideview mirrors, Continental kit, fender skirts and handsome, well-placed bright trim for accent. The car rides on whitewall tires mounted on steel wheels with factory wheel covers. The Bel Air is powered by a 265-cid V-8 engine paired to a two-speed automatic transmission, providing driving ease and pleasure. The tidy interior is completed in a two-tone red and white featuring bench seating, center glove compartment, underdash tissue dispenser, AM radio and a clock.
