It’s argued the 1959 Ford model year was one of the best years for Ford design. While other brands began to fully embrace space age design, Ford showed restraint. Their elegant design for 1959 won the Gold Medal for Exceptional Styling at the Brussels World Fair. In 1959 Ford added the Galaxie, which assumed the top position in the Ford lineup. The car wore the Fairlane 500 badge in addition to its Galaxie badge. This top-of-the-line Ford was offered in five body configurations: Town Sedan, Club Sedan, Town Victoria, Club Victoria, Sunliner Convertible and Skyliner Convertible.
This 1959 Ford Galaxie Sunliner Convertible is a very solid car, having received a body-off restoration. The car is presented in a two-tone red and white with polished stainless skirts, accompanied with a white convertible power top. The car sits on whitewall tires mounted on red wheels with Sun-Ray wheel covers. The engine bay houses a V-8 engine and is detailed to perfection. The car has an automatic transmission. The interior is upholstered in a tri-color design in red, black, and white. The interior features a Console Range Radio, MagicAire heater, and the self-regulating electric clock. The car also features the added benefit of power steering.
