This rare 1974 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty 455 that is being offered is a beautifully restored example that, along with running the rare and coveted 455-cid Super Duty V-8, is said to have its correct drivetrain and has the correct intake and correct carburetor. The power output is listed as 290 to 310 horsepower, but most serious observers believe that these figures are quite conservative. All Super Duty engines were built by hand; they have a fortified engine block with four-bolt main bearings, forged pistons, free-flow round-port heads, Ram Air exhaust manifolds, 800-cfm Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor and a uniquely cast block that allows easy conversion to a dry-sump oiling system per factory specifications. This represents the last year for true dual-exhausts and no federal emission controls. The powerful engine is connected to an automatic transmission. The standard gear ratio for the Super Duty model is 3.42:1.

The Trans Am has a deluxe cloth interior in black with bucket seats and center console. It is important to convey that this is a well-equipped car with many options. Among these coveted extras is air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, factory 8-track tape player, honeycomb factory alloy wheels, sport mirrors, hood graphics; power windows, door locks, steering and brakes.

The Buccaneer Red color on this car (Code 75) was one of three tones available and is the original color for this car.
