Ford introduced their new-for-1949 model as having the look of the year, with a “dream-car silhouette.” The Ford “Forty-Niner” was a complete new path from the past; from bumper to bumper and from roof to road. It was the combination of dozens of new features that the customer was in search of. The inside was described in period as a “living room on wheels.” Here is the car that Ford wanted in your future.
Finished in Sea Mist Green with a dark green interior, this Ford Tudor Sedan has a 226-cid, 95-hp inline six-cylinder L-head engine with a three-speed column-shift manual transmission. The car is reported as primarily original with an older repaint. A heater, AM radio, whitewall tires and steel wheels with caps and trim rings help define the simply, yet beautiful lines seen on the, then trending setting, 1949 Ford.
