The car review magazines loved the second generation Camaro. Road & Track called the 1970 Camaro “the best American car we’ve ever driven.” Car and Driver was equally enthused with its test Z28 (now released from the Trans Am rules 5-liter purgatory by the SCCA and thankfully powered by a lusty 360 horsepower, 350 cubic inch small block). The Camaro may not have offered the sophisticated four-wheel independent suspension and disc brakes of the Corvette, but its design and execution was, if anything, more subtly balanced with predictable handling and response that made it particularly satisfying to drive in a variety of conditions. Restored to be like new in many ways, this blue over blue Camaro is offered with a variety of very desirable and seldom seen options. The engine is the 350/250 horsepower variant with a column-shift automatic transmission. The bright blue interior is highlighted with headrest-equipped bucket seats, 150-mph speedometer, woodgrain dash insert, power steering and brakes, as well as air conditioning. The original window sticker can also be found on this very attractive example. The white vinyl roof is accented with the period look white line tires. Early second generation Camaros are gaining in interest and this sport coupe is a fine entry level collector’s piece.
