This fine example of "woodie" station wagon was purchased by its second owner in 1938 and has remained in this same family ever since. As it becomes available for the first time in many years, it benefits from only one repaint of its all original sheetmetal from new (in 1990) and carries "95-percent" of its original wood, as well as an all original interor. It is equipped with the iconic flathead V-8 engine and also has a three-speed manual transmission, as well as dual horns. The flathead engine was rebuilt in 2006 - the current owner states that the heads are correct, but they are cast iron new old stock reproductions that were manufactured in 1948.
This "woodie" wagon is handsomely finished in tan with a black vinyl top and red painted wire wheels. The uncommon vehicle is accompanied by the original 1938 bill of sale from its only sales transfer, plus maintenance records and World War II tire inspection records.
