While Oldsmobile normally cultivated an image of careful evolution, with a strong engineering focus, the entire 1959-model line was completely restyled for the second time in two model years. This 1959 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible is a beautiful example, running with a 315 horsepower Rocket V-8 engine and automatic transmission. It is presented with a two-tone finish of white and red. The handsome exterior is accented by stunning brightwork, as well as period-correct whitewall tires, steel wheels and desirable “spinner” factory hubcaps. The interior features striking tri-tone upholstery, as well as a multi-tone dash, which is truly impressive in appearance. While the 98 was already very well-equipped as standard, this car also includes amenities including power-operated windows and top, original AM radio, heater, clock, fender skirts and dual spotlights.
