The 1946-1947 Hudson Commodore 8 was the top-line series in Hudson's early postwar lineup. It shared its bodyshell and most design features with other models; all were holdovers of the 1941-1942 offerings. Soft-tops were few, they are said to have probably not exceeded 500 units for both model years.
The car is powered by a 254-cid, 128-hp straight eight-cylinder, L-head engine and is mated to a three-speed manual transmission that is column-mounted.
This particular Brougham is finished in blue with a white vinyl convertible top and complimented by a blue vinyl interior. The odometer shows approximately 46,000 miles, and the car is also fitted with an AM radio, clock and heater. The interior has many appropriate design elements that reflect the cars era.
This uncommon full-size luxury car exhibits attractive styling and is complimented by handsome brightwork, dual mirrors, chrome hubcaps and wide whitewall tires.
Hudson was well-respected for their construction quality and lively performance in period. They would go on to set many AAA speed records and record many NASCAR racing triumphs during the early 1950s.
