The 1960 Pontiac Catalina convertible offered here has received a complete frame-up restoration, and it is powered by a 389-cid, 318-hp V-8 with the uncommon tri-power carburetion. This is connected to an automatic transmission. The white finish and white soft-top nicely complements a two-tone, mainly red interior. For the 1960 model year turn signals, oil filter, five tubeless tires, and courtesy lamps on convertibles were standard equipment.

Just five years earlier, Pontiac had begun to founder in the sales race. When Bunkie Knudsen became division president in 1956 he was tasked with turning sales around and he did so dramtically. He accomplished the turnaround by making Pontiacs exciting both in style and performance. The 1960 Catalina is a great example of that new attitude and its winning ways on racetracks and showroom floors set in motion a trend that would continue for years.
