The legendary front wheel drive Cord 810 sedan is powered by a Lycoming engine that measures 288.6-cid with 125-hp in a V-8 configuration. The transmission is a four-speed manual with an electronic pre-selector. The elegant Cord is considered a Full Classic by the Classic Car Club of America. The car comes with its owner’s manual and is finished in maroon with tan interior and has an aircraft-inspired instrument panel with engine-turned applique. The Gordon Buehrig styling is arguably the most beautiful body design ever built by an American manufacturer. Displaying a low profile with unit-body construction; the Cord has its distinctive, unadorned “coffin”-nose, retractable, concealed headlights (an industry first), modernistic window shapes that includes a vee-shaped, split-pane windshield. The smooth lines benefit from concealed door hinges; also an industry innovation. The Cord received rave reviews and massive public interest when introduced at the 1935 New York Auto Show. Cord produced a reported total of 1,764 cars in 1936.
