Built for the 1989 model year, this Mercedes-Benz 560 SL was earmarked for the Canadian market and originally finished in Signal Red with a black leather interior, matching black convertible top, and was fitted with the rare optional extra of heated seats along with the four-speed automatic transmission. Delivered new through Mercedes-Benz Canada, it was sold new in Toronto, Ontario to Anna Villman on December 2, 1988.

Amazingly, the original owner’s family retained this car for over thirty years and during this time regularly maintained the car to ensure it was always in excellent condition. As such, the car is accompanied by a comprehensive history file which includes the original data card, service book, original purchase agreement, and original tools.

Acquired by the consignor in 2019, the car has been driven roughly 190 km since his acquisition and the odometer indicates that the car has driven less than 17,500 km from new. It goes without saying that the car remains in wonderful condition throughout thanks to a lifetime of careful ownership and regular maintenance.

Having already achieved status as a modern collectable, the 560 SL with undoubtably the most desirable variant of Mercedes-Benz’s R107 platform. Low mileage examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially cars that have remained with their original owner for the majority of their lives. As a result, this example warrants serious consideration and would sit proudly in any collection of Mercedes-Benz convertibles.
