The Ford Bronco, introduced in 1966, changed little over the succeeding years, a testament to its excellent design and popularity. Tough, practical, and simple, the Bronco served a particular purpose and did so exceedingly well. The Bronco’s reputation took off quickly and soon became one of Jeep’s biggest competitors. This relatively small first-generation, four-wheel-drive vehicle developed a loyal following, allowing it to remain in production up until the 1977 model year.

This 1969 Bronco benefits from a complete frame-off restoration and extensive customization. The unique four-door, six-passenger body is clad in Seal Gray and features a bespoke Bikini top underpinned by a new steel tub, integrated roll cage, and three-inch, off-road suspension. A complete Wilwood Engineering disc braking system is housed within a set of light alloy wheels wrapped in 35-inch Falken Wildpeak M/T tires.

This Bronco’s performance has been dramatically improved by swapping the original engine for a 5.0-liter “Coyote” V-8 from Ford Racing and a six-speed 6R80 automatic transmission. A custom exhaust system finished with dual Magna Flow mufflers is routed past the dual-range transfer case and out the rear of the car. A push-button starter and 23-gallon fuel tank further ensure operational reliability. The braking and steering systems have been similarly updated with power-assisted boosters.

The car’s cockpit has been tastefully and expertly updated with modern amenities, although the period Bronco aesthetic has been retained to an obsessive degree. The Saddle vinyl upholstery is of marine-grade quality and has been trimmed in a facsimile of the original factory-style pattern. The front seats feature clever flip-and-fold functionality, and this Bronco’s custom dashboard is fronted by a tilt-adjustable steering wheel and OEM-style gauges. Creature comforts include air conditioning, Sirius/XM radio, updated sound system, and a modern, unit with Bluetooth connectivity and a vintage look.

With classic styling, easy access to parts, off-road versatility, and a rugged reputation, these early Broncos are treasured by enthusiasts and collectors—now more than ever.
