Among the most beautiful body styles offered on the 1929 Model L Lincoln was Detroit coachbuilder Raymond Dietrich’s convertible victoria, one of the first two-door convertibles designed to have an attractive top and full rear quarter windows. Other interesting features included a linoleum floor, adjustable individual armchair-style front seats, and a rear seat that could be folded to accommodate additional luggage. This particular example was reportedly originally delivered to “Mr. Roberts,” an early celebrity hairdresser. Discovered abandoned in a New York City parking garage in the 1950s, it was acquired in 1970 by longtime enthusiast Ken Kenewell, and after restoration was a Classic Car Club of America Senior Premier award-winner and shown at the 1999 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The restoration is well preserved and the car one of the most attractive convertible Model L Lincolns, with a wonderful history.
