Originally designed by General Motor’s legendary Harley Earl and his storied “Art and Color Department”, the stunning Eldorado Biarritz convertibles were futuristic automobiles produced in a time of great American economic strength and optimism. With a factory price of $7,286 they cost nearly twice the average yearly wage in this country. Clearly, these fabulous and exclusive automobiles were reserved for people of means. Owning a Biarritz convertible, then as now, was an expression of glorious excess and success.

This example, one of just 1,800 Eldorado Biarritz convertibles made in 1957, is described as in original condition except for a older repaint in the correct Code 98 Copper. The finish does show minor polishing wear and signs of use in a few places but is still very presentable overall, as is the extensive chrome and stainless brightwork. The original leather upholstery is excellent considering the age of this 60 year old car, and the white convertible top and factory fiberglass parade boot are also in good condition.

This stunning automobile features many appointments which were rare for a convertible at the time. These include factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power seat, power windows, E-Z Eye glass, power top, Autronic headlight dimmer, power trunk and AM radio. This car is equipped with the 300 hp, 365 cubic inch single four-barrel V-8, “Hydra-Matic” transmission and dual exhaust. Newer BF Goodrich Silvertown wide whitewall radial 255/70R15 tires with original factory Sabre wheels complete the high-end appearance of this rare Cadillac.

Designed to attract attention while effortlessly floating down the highways of America, this stunning 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz is unquestionably as pure a status symbol as ever produced in this country.
