In 1947 Harley-Davidson released a 125-cc two-stroke motorcycle called the S-125. The S-125 was based on the German made DKW RT125 and gained popularity quickly selling ten thousand models in the first seven months of production. Over the years Harley-Davidson made a number of improvements and variations of this two-stroke platform and in 1962 they released the Scat. The Scat was a scrambler style dual-purpose motorcycle with a high-mounted front fender, high exhaust, high handlebars, and softer seat suspension for improved off-road use. These two-stroke Harley-Davidson’s have become highly collectible and look great alongside a full sized Harley-Davidson.
This example has benefited from a restoration and shows nicely, displaying 4,000 miles on the odometer. This 1965 Harley-Davidson Scat is a great little two-stroke for touring and exploring the trails.
