Building on the success of the 1964-1/2 Mustang, Ford made numerous improvements to the car for 1965. These changes included new, more powerful engines and the addition of a new body style, the 2+2 fastback. For 1965 Ford produced 77,079 fastbacks.
This 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback was restored in 2013 as a GT clone. The car is presented in burnt orange featuring black racing stripes and “GT350” rocker stripes. It shows very nicely having recently been painted. The vehicle rides on new tires which are mounted on Torq Thrust aluminum wheels. The restoration included an all-new windshield, electrical wiring, sub-frame connectors, suspension, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, gas tank; as well as stainless steel fuel and brake lines. The car is powered by a 351-cid Windsor V-8 crate engine which is paired to four-speed manual transmission. The interior of the car is completed in black featuring a “Pony” interior with aftermarket gauges and an AM/FM four-speaker system.
Please note the odometer cable is not connected.
