In 1962, the most-powerful Corvette engine was the regular production (order number 582) fuel-injected 327 V-8, such as seen with this car, and now offered in a very highly-developed state of tune and the proven Rochester mechanical fuel-injection unit putting out 360-hp. Amazingly, 1,918 Corvette buyers, representing 13 percent of the 14,531 total production opted for this relatively expensive option in 1962, paying an additional $484.20 to enjoy the growing mystique and performance of the “fuelie.”

This Roman Red example has experienced a complete frame-off restoration and is complemented by a Black soft-top and Black interior. The engine (3782870 block casting) and fuel injection unit (7017360) are reported as correct to the car, plus it has the desirable four-speed manual transmission. Features include its original Wonderbar radio, sunshades, package tray, seatbelts, courtesy light and proper stainless wheel covers with whitewall radial tires. The Corvette has been beautifully restored with factory correct components, including T-3 headlights, Harrison radiator, expansion tank, generator, high redline tach, complete ignition shielding, proper hoses and clamps, and a complete original windshield washer system. This is one of those cars where the more you look at it, the more you love it. Body fit, paint finish, chrome and trim quality, interior fit and finish and engine detail... everything that catches your eye is stated as “nicer than it would have been from the factory in 1962.”
