In the 1957 model year Dodge was taking the opportunity to move into the heavy-duty market. They introduced the 12-volt electrical and ignition key starter into their vehicles and their V-8 truck sales rose from 38 percent to 54 percent in 1957. The body styling of the D100 stuck out with its fin tail rear quarters and was adored by the public. Advertisements of the day proclaimed the 1957 Dodge truck line as “Power Giants.” This particular truck is equipped with a 315-cid V-8 engine that is coupled to an automatic transmission, producing 204 horsepower. Painted in two-tone white and light blue with a complementary white interior makes this vehicle an eye grabber. The accentuating body lines makes the paint glisten in the sun while the V-8 engine rumbles under the hood.
