Chevrolet introduced the El Camino in 1959 built on the full-size Chevy chassis. It produced the car for just two years when it disappeared after 1960 only to reappear in 1964 on the all-new mid-size Chevelle wagon chassis which afforded ½-ton carrying capacity. Options mirrored the rest of the Chevelle line-up, including high-performance Super Sport equipment.

Originally built with both factory air conditioning and a four-speed manual transmission, this El Camino has been upgraded to include an L79-spec 350-hp 327-cid V-8 created from leftover parts. This Regal Red example which benefits from a ground-up restoration is equipped with power steering and brakes, headers and dual exhaust, bucket seats and console, and dash-mounted tach. It displays great paint, chrome and panel fit and has actual miles.
