The first Thunderbird production car rolled off the line on September 9, 1954, and when enough cars were built, Ford introduced the car to the public on October 22. Dealers reportedly received 4,000 deposits, prompting the company to revise its sales estimates upward. Features that were available were power steering, brakes, windows and a four-way seat; as well as an available radio, heater, and choice of a three-speed manual or Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission.

This Ford is powered by the standard 292-cid V-8 engine backed by a three-speed manual transmission. The Thunderbird is finished in black, with a black convertible top and a white removable hard top. The car is rolling on Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels wrapped with whitewall tires. The interior is tailored with two-tone black and white power seats and an optional radio.

Presented beautifully, this 1955 Thunderbird has had only one owner from new and is a great opportunity to acquire one of the most collectable cars of all time and still be only its second owner after 60 years.
