The 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Centennial Edition package was available on all models, Grand Sport, Z06 and ZR1 beginning in the summer of 2011. It was no coincidence that the car was launched around the time of the 100th anniversary of the first running of the Indianapolis 500, a race in which the Chevrolet brothers competed at, and was won by Gaston in 1920 before being tragically killed the following October at a board track race in Beverly Hills, California.

The Centennial Edition comes in one color, Carbon Flash Metallic, with satin-black graphics, satin black wheels and red brake calipers giving the car a ominous look. The wheels themselves are lightweight cast alloys with a thin red outline around the perimeter. A graphic logo featuring Louis Chevrolet image appears on the center caps of the wheels. The crossed checker flag logos feature the number 100 instead of the traditional fleur-de-lis symbol. The car's exterior treatment is echoed in the cabin—the dash and door inserts are wrapped in ebony leather with red stitching, while Microfiber suede is used on the seat inserts, steering wheel and shift knob. Louis Chevrolet was a fearless racing pioneer who also designed the first Chevrolet; this Corvette is a natural fit to honor that legacy.

This exciting one-owner example is one of a reported 2,201 Centennial Editions built, with a reported less than 500 copies in the convertible version, as seen here. With the big V-8 engine churning out 430 horsepower, you are likely to have an exhilarating driving experience anytime you climb aboard. This is a very rare and greatly respected Corvette that has a clean AutoCheck and has never experienced any damage or paint work. Power options and conveniences are abound in this sinister-looking offering.
