1951 Ford passenger cars were offered in two trim levels, the economical Deluxe series, and the higher quality Custom Deluxe, which offered a full spectrum of body styles. Interior appointments included dual sun-visors, door-mounted arm rests and assist straps for back seat passengers.
By far, one of the most popular and desirable models for collectors that year has always been the Custom-Deluxe convertible, a beautiful example of what is being offered here. Less than 5 percent of total Ford production was this illusive style. This example presents an opportunity not to be missed. Finished in deep maroon on a very straight body, this fresh custom is a knockout in all areas. The interior presentation is exceptional with its restored dash that has been kept close to stock, with the exception of the neatly placed Vintage Air climate control panel to the left of the stock steering column. The seats and door panels are nicely finished in oxblood and tan leather. Most impressive is the sparkling clean engine compartment with its crate 350-cubic inch GM engine. From the body-color firewall to the brushed aluminum valve covers, each component under the hood is well detailed and ready for show. An automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows, and custom air conditioning insure this drop top Ford is one not to be missed.
