In a bid to generate buyer traffic and excitement beyond the Javelin and AMX models and to capitalize on the rapidly expanding small car muscle market, AMC launched a Hurst modified SC/Rambler in 1969. The radically different Hurst SC/Rambler was notable for its performance extras, including the AMX 390-cid engine that produces 315-horsepower.

According to the SC/Rambler Registry, 230 examples of the “A” Scheme cars exist from the acknowledged figure of 500 from the first batch produced in the “A” Scheme livery. Among the many factory performance add-ons included are front and rear wheel-wells rolled to accommodate larger tires or drag slicks, functional ram-air, rear torque links, quick ratio manual steering, blue painted Magnum 500-style wheels, heavy-duty four-speed manual Hurst shifter, hose-clamp mounted tachometer on the steering column and so much more.

This nicely restored “A” Scheme has its original engine, and it is documented by the SC/Rambler Registry. The “A” Scheme comes with its service warranty books; it is originally from Arizona.
