One of Only 205 Examples Fitted with the Supercharged F-Code Engine. Today the 1957 F-Bird is by far the most sought after Thunderbird by marque enthusiasts. 1957 marked the last year before the Thunderbird was totally redesigned and made into a sluggish four passenger luxury convertible. The F-code engine elevated the performance of a standard Thunderbird from a reasonably quick cruiser to a dedicated quarter mile contender; it was just the thing to take on unsuspecting Corvettes accustomed to trouncing Thunderbirds at streetlights all over town.

The 1957 F-Bird presented here was fastidiously restored by marque expert Mel Price as his personal concours car. Today, it remains in excellent condition throughout. This car is fully documented and retains its original factory invoice. It is a well-known F-code car, with most of its ownership history since new on file with F-Bird historical expert John Shields of Scottsdale, Arizona. The majority of the F-code cars were white, with black being the second most popular color. Only 16 of the original 205 F-Birds were painted Starmist blue. Additionally the bulk of the cars had automatic transmissions, while this example is equipped with the highly desirable three-speed manual transmission coupled to a factory installed two-speed overdrive unit. The history, rare color combination and drivetrain make this among the most coveted of factory supercharged Thunderbirds.
