As part of the Ford Motor Company centennial celebration, Ford debuted the retro-styled GT. A modern homage to Ford’s racing heritage, the car celebrated the highly successful GT40 program of the 1960s, which won Le Mans an impressive four consecutive times. Exceedingly popular since its debut, the GT went into production for the 2005 and 2006 model years, during which time just 4,033 examples were produced.

In addition to the stunning design, the Ford GT featured impressive performance, the likes of which hadn’t been seen from a production car built in Detroit. Powered by a 5.4-liter DOHC V-8 engine featuring a Lysholm twin-screw supercharger, the GT is rated at 550 hp and 500 foot-pounds of torque. The engine is paired to Ricardo six-speed manual transmission featuring a helical limited-slip differential. This driveline allows the Ford GT to achieve a 205 mph top speed and 0–60 time of 3.3 seconds. These extraordinary performance figures put the car in competition with other supercars of the time, such as the Porsche’s Carrera GT and the Mercedes-McLaren SLR.

This 2005 Ford GT is finished in Centennial White with Blue racing stripes and an Ebony leather interior. It was purchased new in August of 2005 from Fred Beans Ford of Doylestown, Pennsylvania. It is outfitted with all four available factory options: full racing stripes, painted brake calipers, forged alloy BBS wheels, and McIntosh stereo. Included with the car are the owner’s manuals with pouch, car cover with bag, trickle charger with bag, and fire extinguisher. When the car was purchased in 2005, the selling dealer was kind enough to include a copy of the Ford GT Portfolio, an impressive book for dealers to entice Ford customers into purchasing the limited-edition supercar. The owner has used this book as a place to safely store some of the delivery stickers and tags from the car. This sunning 2005 Ford GT is a one-owner example which has covered just 1,929 miles from new.

Commanding a premium since its release, the GT has remained highly sought after on the second-hand market– a true testament to its stunning design, extraordinary performance, and outstanding collectability among enthusiasts. The GT is a special car, one that set the standard as Ford’s “pace car for an entire company.”
