2005 Ferrari Superamerica
{{lr.item.text}}
{{bidding.lot.reserveStatusFormatted}}
- Less than 3,800 miles showing on the odometer at cataloguing time
- Finished in the classic combination of Corsa Red over beige leather
- Fitted from the factory with nearly $40,000 in options, including the extremely desirable GTC Package
Based on the upgraded 575M Maranello, the resulting Superamerica is a stunning technological marvel, thanks to its Revocromico rotating hardtop, the first of its kind ever fitted to a production car. Constructed using a carbon fiber frame with electrochromic glass, its opacity can be adjusted via a dial in the cabin, allowing the driver and passenger to experience the full brightness of a conventional sunroof at its lightest setting or just 1% of available light at its darkest. Further, the Superamerica could be transformed into a convertible at the touch of a button, with the roof ingeniously rotating back to rest flush with the rear deck in just 10 seconds. Ferrari built just 559 Superamericas.
Completing production in May 2005, this Superamerica is finished in Corsa Red over beige leather, a classic Ferrari combination. Notably, it came equipped with nearly $40,000 in factory options, as indicated by the accompanying window sticker. This included the desirable $21,000 GTC Package, which featured carbon ceramic brakes with red calipers, a faster steering rack, a titanium, racing-style exhaust system, and 19-inch modular wheels. Also included from the factory were Daytona-style seats, carbon fiber interior trim, the rear wall upholstered in leather, a high-output audio system with CD changer, and Scuderia Ferrari shields.
Shipped new to The Collection in Coral Gables, Florida, the car was serviced multiple times at this flagship Ferrari dealer through 2023, according to its Carfax report on file, before being moved to Montana under current ownership. With less than 3,800 miles showing on the odometer, it has been driven sparingly its entire life and the consignor notes that the roof remained in good order at the time of cataloguing.
Combining the potent V-12 drivetrain of the 575M Maranello with a revolutionary advancement in open-air motoring, the Superamerica is a formidable sports car for all occasions and climates, likely to remain in high demand—particularly as this example is configured—and a worthy successor to the storied Superamerica name dating back to the fifties.
