The Bentley Azure debuted at the 1995 Geneva Auto Show and was based on the platform of the successful Continental R. Pininfarina built the shell and soft-top for the Azure in Italy with assembly of the car completed at the Bentley factory in Crewe. A total of just over 1,400 examples were built until production ended in 2002.
Delivered new to Southern California, this Azure is one of only 200 examples produced in 1997 and wears the attractive color of Peacock Blue over its Magnolia leather interior. The hydraulic system for the convertible top was extensively serviced in 2017 and 2018, and the current owner has continued to mechanically and cosmetically improve the Azure while it has been in his collection. Service records through 2018 total more than $32,000. Since then, the Azure has received a new windshield and the sun faded dashboard and airbag cover has been repaired. In 2019 the Azure was shown at The Quail’s Bentley Celebration.
The current owner, an avid driver, drove the car from Rancho Santa Fe and back, with pure enjoyment and no mechanical issues, even through the heavy traffic of Los Angeles to the golden hills of California. Today the Azure has under 34,000 original miles and is well sorted and ready for thousands more miles of enjoyment.
