RM Sotheby’s Presents the Gene Ponder Collection

Extensive to the point of being nearly encyclopedic, The Gene Ponder Collection included items from nearly every marque in motoring history.

Based in the rolling plains of Marshall, Texas, the wide-ranging collection amassed by Gene Ponder encompassed everything from posters and neon art to large-scale models and memorabilia of nearly all types. Automobiles, too, were well-represented, with uncommon motor cars like Arnolt-Bristol and hard-to-find models, like the MG PB Airline Coupe, included in the sale. Ferrari was a particular favorite of Mr. Ponder, and the variety of prancing horse-themed motor cars, memorabilia, and even motorcycles would impress even the most experienced European car fan. With a 100% sell-through rate, the 1,163 lots of automobiles and automobilia all found new homes thanks to the dedicated work of the RM Sotheby’s team and the careful curation of Mr. Ponder.
