1967 Austin Mini Moke offered in RM Sotheby’s Drive Into The Holidays online auction 2019

1967 Austin Mini Moke

Estimate: $7,500 - $12,500 USD | Offered Without Reserve

No matter the time of year, the charismatic Mini Moke brings joy to all who encounter it. This example of the beloved British beach cruiser is perhaps the most well-known, purchased new by famed Hollywood agent George “Bullets” Durgom—manager to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Merv Griffin, and Jackie Gleason, among other famed stars of the era. Mark I Mini Mokes were only available in Spruce Green; this example was specified to be finished in Old English White with Spruce Green trim and a Green top—an option which Mr. Durgom clearly was able to pull some strings to make into a reality. He would go on to own this Mini Moke for over two decades, later restyling it to include red-and-white-striped seats and top in a similar fashion to the Mini Moke from the well-known British TV show The Prisoner. The Mini Moke remained in the Durgom family for four decades before passing on to its current owner.

2006 Ford GT offered in RM Sotheby’s Drive Into The Holidays online auction 2019

2006 Ford GT

Estimate: $275,000 - $325,000 USD

This four-option example of Ford’s tribute to the legendary Le Mans–winning GT40 is the gift that keeps on giving. Stylistically, it pays homage to the GT40 of the 1960s with an unmistakable shape and telltale body lines reminiscent of the original, plus the performance to match, rivaling analog supercars of its era such as the Carrera GT and Mercedes-McLaren SLR. A 5.4-liter DOHC V-8 engine was mated to a Lysholm twin-screw supercharger capable of producing some 550 horsepower and 500 foot-pounds of torque. This example is one of only 494 produced in Tungsten with full racing stripes and features the optional McIntosh radio, forged BBS wheels, and body-color-matched brake calipers. Since its delivery in January of 2006, it has covered a mere 89.7 miles and presents today in as-new condition. The Ford GT has become highly sought after by collectors and is considered by many to rank among the very best of the analog supercars.

1989 Ferrari Testarossa offered in RM Sotheby’s Drive Into The Holidays online auction 2019

1989 Ferrari Testarossa

Estimate: $125,000 - $150,000 USD

What better way to spread holiday cheer than with the exhaust note of this Ferrari Testarossa’s 380-horsepower flat V-12 engine? The Testarossa was an instant hit when it was debuted in October 1984 at the Lido nightclub in Paris and the Paris Auto Show a day later, and it remains an icon in the sports car world to automobile enthusiasts. Longer, wider, more spacious, and more powerful than the 512 BBi which it replaced, it was a drastic leap forward in both design and engineering. This desirable US-delivery example has been fastidiously maintained under its third owner and has recently undergone a comprehensive engine service in 2017, including replacement of the timing belts, totaling over CA$26,000. It presents today in wonderful condition with less than 15,000 miles on the odometer, its Rosso Corsa paintwork presenting nicely and its Tan leather interior still supple and showing little wear. It is accompanied by its original owner’s manuals, tool roll, and binder of invoices and documentation, as well as a rare set of factory Schedoni luggage.

1960 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I BN7 offered in RM Sotheby’s Drive Into The Holidays online auction 2019

1960 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I BN7

Estimate: $50,000 - $70,000 USD | Offered Without Reserve

This example of Austin-Healey’s prized roadster has undergone a complete restoration under the expertise of marque expert Tom Rocke of Healey Lane Restorations. Originally Healy Blue over a Blue interior, a lovely two-stage urethane paint scheme of black over ivory was polished to a high-gloss finish and is highlighted by the brightwork of the wire wheels and chrome trim. Inside, black wool carpets were installed and the dash was covered in black leather to match the Amalia-covered seats. Both the engine and transmission were rebuilt using new components and finished with a stainless-steel exhaust system. Of the 13,650 Mark I models produced, only 20 percent were two-seat models, making this example one of only 2,825 ever completed.

1966 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8 offered in RM Sotheby’s Drive Into The Holidays online auction 2019

1966 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8

Estimate: $60,000 - $80,000 USD | Offered Without Reserve

This example of the Mark III iteration of Austin-Healey’s 3000 has been restored to be true to the way it left the factory in 1965, making it highly desirable to collectors and drivers alike. A frame-off rotisserie restoration was performed by skilled Healey specialist Lynn Cline, leaving no detail overlooked. It was repainted in the original shade of Healey Blue with blue interior and matching convertible top, an attractive and traditional color combination. The straight six-cylinder engine was professionally rebuilt by Medina Motor Sport during the restoration and paired to a four-speed manual transmission with electronic overdrive. A copy of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate confirms the vehicle’s original specifications and verifies that it is a matching-numbers example.

2017 Jeep Wrangler Custom offered in RM Sotheby’s Drive Into The Holidays online auction 2019

2017 Jeep Wrangler Custom

Estimate: $40,000 - $50,000 USD

Dash through the snow—or mud, water, rugged trails, and just about any other terrain in your path this holiday season—with this modified 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Its 3.6-liter V-6 has been upgraded with a Magnuson TVS 1320 supercharger and custom exhaust to increase horsepower and torque output throughout the RPM range. This example is notably more aggressive in appearance than in stock form, due in part to the five-inch lift kit utilizing Fox shocks and 22-inch Fuel wheels wrapped in 37x13.50 Repulsor tires. To accommodate the larger wheel and tire package, Bushwacker pocket-style fender flares were added, and an upgraded 4.88:1 rear axle gear set helps to handle the larger rolling diameter. Additionally, a Rock-Slide engineering bumper with Smittybilt X2O 12,000 lb winch add to the rugged aesthetic and ensure that this Wrangler can free itself from even the stickiest of situations, and four DB Link LED corner lights and a 50-inch DB Link LED light bar light the path ahead. Inside, the normally plain interior has been upgraded with Ferrari-style seats finished in cognac-colored leather with an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and a custom entertainment system featuring Alpine speakers and a Rockford Fosgate amplifier has been added.
