Around the Le Mans Circuit in the 1932 Rudge Whitworth Cup Winner

British manufacturer Aston Martin established their reputation for building swift, capable race cars far before their association with James Bond.

Nearly a century ago, this works-built Aston Martin LM8 competed against Bugatti and Alfa Romeo at what is still today the world’s preeminent test of endurance, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Watch four-time Le Mans veteran Ben Collins drive this pre-war Aston Martin around the Circuit de la Sarthe, the very track where it won the 1.5-litre class and took home the Rudge-Whitworth Cup.

A piece of pre-war history, this 1932 Aston Martin Le Mans ‘LM8’ is set to sell on 9 June 2023 as part of RM Sotheby’s Centenary auction in collaboration with l’Automobile Club de l’Ouest.
