A Famous Ferrari – 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Formerly Owned by Steve McQueen

The King of Cool, Steve McQueen had a sense of style when it came to sports cars.

Customized to his taste, this 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 was repainted ‘Chianti Red’ and fitted with a one-off competition-style side mirror at McQueen’s mechanic of choice, Lee Brown. The mirror and Borrani wire wheels both were rescued from the actor’s NART Spider, which suffered an accident in Malibu, preempting McQueen’s purchase of this gorgeous Berlinetta. We took this car back to its old stomping grounds, Malibu, California, and drove it through the canyons, just as McQueen did in-period. A star car for RM Sotheby’s Monterey 2023 auction, the 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 formerly owned by Steve McQueen is the ultimate automotive artifact from the King of Cool.
