Completed in May 1965, this Porsche 911 Coupe was sold to its first owner in Orlando, Florida during the fall of the same year. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity on file confirms the factory finished the exterior in Dolphin Grey over a Green leatherette interior, just as the car is presented today. Additionally, the car was optioned with Phoenix tires, a Webasto car heater, two headrests in leather, and one outside rearview mirror.

Remarkably, the original service book has remained with the 911 over the years, and it contains stamps up to the final page marking the 30,000-mile maintenance. A diligent owner of the vehicle at the time then submitted a request to Porsche for a new blank book in order to continue documenting the history of the car. This second maintenance record contains an additional stamp from 1988 confirming an oil change. A Kardex copy also provides a record of the mileage accrued during the first year of ownership. Correspondence on file indicates the Porsche remained in Florida for most of its life, and in the late 1980s, efforts were made to improve the condition of the car—which had previously been parked for several years, having been driven a little over 27,000 miles—through mechanical and body work.

The White Collection acquired the Porsche in 2014 and today, just 32,073 miles show on the odometer at the time of cataloguing. Consistent with this modest mileage, its interior appears to be in highly original condition, while its exterior still benefits from the cosmetic work carried out in the late 1980s. Significantly, the numbers-matching engine and gearbox are found under the rear lid, further increasing the desirability of this early 911. During its time as a member of the collection, the car has been started at monthly intervals to ensure proper functioning order of the mechanical systems. Owner’s books, the original service booklet, tools, a Kardex copy, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and assorted documents will accompany the car upon sale.

An undeniable performance and styling benchmark, the Porsche 911 has captured the hearts of automotive enthusiasts for over half a century. This car, a stunning, first-generation, short-wheelbase 911, is a very sought-after model among Porsche collectors; an attractive example such as this, with its moderate mileage and numbers-matching engine and gearbox, will certainly make a wonderful addition to any garage.
