Delivered new to its first owner on 6 July 1988 in France, this 959 Komfort was originally finished in Silver with Dark Grey leather with contrasting silver inserts, arguably the most iconic 959 colour combination. The Porsche remained with its original owner in France until 1999 when it was acquired at auction by its current, Italian custodian with roughly 8,000 original kilometres on its odometer. Upon his purchase, the 959 was repainted black to match his other cars, as was his personal preference. Driven about 4,000 kilometres during his tenure, the car has more recently been given a full, bare metal re-spay to the very highest original standard in its original silver colour by Porsche Specialist Ermanno Cattaneo in Vercelli, Italy.
Fastidiously maintained, this ground-breaking Porsche is accompanied by a file of service invoices from throughout its life, showcasing that it has always been properly and regularly maintained. This file also includes a recent full service by a Porsche dealership for €8.000 in 2015. Offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the 959 also retains its original service book, owner’s manuals, and tool kit.
Over 30 years since the 959 was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 1985, it still remains a revolutionary automobile in every way. Such features it pioneered include adjustable suspension, an intelligent four-wheel-drive system, and tyre pressure sensors that would eventually become mainstays of the industry. Today, this 959 is in exemplary condition throughout as an exceptionally low-mileage example of one of the most exceptional road-going Porsches ever built. Offered publically for the first time in 18 years, this two-owner original supercar would please even the most discerning of collectors.
