For the 1998 CART FedEx Championship Series Newman/Haas Racing fielded two cars, the #6 Texaco/Havoline car piloted by Michael Andretti and the #11 Kmart car piloted by Christian Fittipaldi (with Roberto Moreno filling in for one race). Team cars for the season were Swift 009.c models with Goodyear tires. They were powered by Ford XB engines.
