The original "Eleanor" was a customized 1971 Ford Mustang SportsRoof that was featured in independent filmmaker "Toby" Halicki's 1974 film, cult-favorite “Gone in 60 Seconds.” This resulted in the original "Eleanor" being the only Ford Mustang to receive star title credit in a movie. The “Eleanor” name was seen again, this time associated with a 1967 Mustang fastback in the 2000 remake of “Gone in 60 Seconds” and this particular car is an imitation of this massively famous machine. In 1995, Toby’s widow, Denice Halicki, licensed the rights of the 1974 film to Disney for a remake of the same name. The new for 2000 film, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, featured Nicolas Cage as master auto thief Randall "Memphis" Raines. Both films share plot similarities about a crew of thieves' who steal approximately 50 cars and then deliver them to the Long Beach docks. Once again, the "Eleanor" name is given to the film's featured car; now silver-toned and a 1967 fastback model with a customized body kit that was originally designed by Steve Stanford.

This fine example is reported as having “one of the finest handmade fiberglass 'Eleanor' kits installed” to this 95,000 actual mile platform that has received a rotisserie restoration during the course of its custom build. Along with the distinctive silver finish that is in this instance DuPont clearcoat/basecoat with vapor silver effect; this Mustang has a black leather interior and displays late-model Ford Code UA Black stripes.

The heart of this beast is its 351-cid Windsor V-8 engine that has been stroked to a 427-cid full roller and is built with a host of extras that includes March Performance pulleys, MSD ignition, Holley 4150, 750-cfm carburetor, wiring by American Autowire, custom aluminum radiator, dual electric cooling fans and Hooker ceramic-coated 6208-1HKR headers. This unit is connected to a T5 manual five-speed transmission with a Centerforce clutch. The rear end is an 8.8-inch with 3.27:1 gearing. TCI Engineering provided the front suspension, there is a power rack-and-pinion steering setup and the Mustang is fitted with Wilwood front disc brakes. The exhaust note is courtesy of Doug’s electric exhaust cutouts. The interior features custom black leather seats and custom console, plus a walnut-rimmed steering wheel, Ididit steering column and a radio. Excitement abounds with this great rendition of a well-known and fun to drive custom Mustang.
