The Packard is powered by a 352-cid, 275-hp V-8 engine that has two four-barrel carburetors and is connected to the standard equipment Ultramatic Drive automatic transmission to deliver, according to advertising of the time, the “most stable, smoothest, softest ride ever offered.”
