Originally envisioned to replace the 911, the 928 heralded a paradigm shift for Porsche, as top brass sought to introduce a luxurious flagship that emphasized long-distance refinement. With a front-engine V-8 at its heart, the 928 boasted a 50/50 weight distribution, making for excellent handling. In the early ’90s the GTS model was announced as 928 production came to a close. It boasted a new 5.4-litre engine producing 345 bhp and benefitted from larger brakes and updated styling.
Delivered new in Germany in 1994, this 928 GTS is finished in black over a black leather interior. Copies of its original order documentation detail a range of options, including: heated seats, sport shocks, Pioneer radio system and telephone, wider wheel arches and sunroof. Remaining in Germany until its purchase and subsequent exportation to Switzerland in 2015, it is accompanied by a file of previous invoices, including one showing mileage of 20,654 km as of June of 1997, alluding that it has travelled under 5,000 km in over 20 years. This well-kept example would surely be one to treasure.
