Just as true today as it was 60 years ago, owning a 1954 Packard Caribbean Convertible granted entrance to an exclusive club. One of the diamonds in the Charlie Thomas Collection is this marvelous Caribbean, finished in Gulf Green and Sahara Sand. Purchased from the second owners, it was identified as one of the best, having taken Third Place at the Warren, Ohio, 100th Anniversary of Packard concours in 1999. Since then, the engine has been detailed and all mechanicals are rebuilt, including the engine, transmission, starter, generator, hydraulics, suspension, and brakes. All chrome and stainless has been replated or polished, and the original wheels were re-spoked with stainless by Dayton wire wheels and shod with new Coker radials, except for the slightly older spare. This same car was also featured in Classic Car magazine’s October 2003 edition and is one of the finest versions available in the world today.
