The Maserati Sebring was named for the company’s win in the 1957 Sebring 12-hour race and evolved from the 240 short-wheelbase 3500 GTI Spyders built by Vignale. Aimed squarely at the American market, it was a handsome 2+2 coupe with four headlights, air conditioning and an automatic transmission option to its ZF five-speed gearbox. Instruments were comprehensive and detailed, the seats were leather, four-wheel disc brakes were standard, and many cars were fitted with wire wheels.
This 1967 Sebring is being sold as a project. It does have an DOHC inline six-cylinder engine backed with a manual transmission. The engine has the Lucas fuel system, but the engine is missing most of the components to make it complete. This includes the cooling system and parts of the engine bay.
The body of the car is not finished and appears to have been coated with primer to protect the sheetmetal. The car has knock off-wire wheels, both glass windshields and some trim pieces. The car is missing many pieces, but this car presents itself as promising project.
