The Series 62 featured a low, sleek body, 346 cubic inch, L-head V-8 engine producing 150 horsepower, semi-floating rear axle and four-wheel hydraulic brakes. Cars came equipped with a three-speed synchromesh manual transmission, though the Oldsmobile Hydra-Matic automatic transmission was offered as an option. It is thought by some that, aesthetically, this was a high point in Cadillac styling. Visually, the car is a masterpiece of subtle, flowing curves and is stunning in red with tan convertible top.

This vehicle has many amenities such as chrome wheel inserts, whitewall tires, hood ornament, convertible top, three-spoke steering wheel, column-shift, body color painted dashboard and a driver side rearview mirror. Sealed beam headlights were standard equipment.
